April 2023 - Note from the Saddle Bench

Hello Everyone!

Hope you are having as good of a month as we are. So far April has been beautiful with hardly any wind. What moisture we have left in the ground has got the weeds and grass turning the crank. I have peavine here at my place a foot tall. The grass is really greening up as well. The daggers and loco have bloomed out and now the yucca is starting. The deer and elk don't have to go far to get all the groceries they need.

The buzzards got back around the 6th of March. We had a couple of cold snaps after that and I think they were wishing they were back in Mexico.

I think most places are through branding. I have seen some yearlings turned out as well. Hope they stay away from the loco and garbencia. Sometimes cattle that are not native will get on the weed when the native cattle don't. There has been lots of loco weed this year but I haven't heard
of but a few folks having any problems.

We just made a big round of holsters if you are in need of a new one. Lots of rigs that are not listed on our website, some just give us a call to see if we have what you need. If we don't have it, chances are we can make it!

We are finishing up a run of mohair cinches as well. Mohair is hard to come by nowadays, but we have plenty on hand for now.

Don't forget the Western Heritage Classic in Abilene, Texas May 11-14. It is one of the best ranch rodeos in the country with lots to see and do. Hope you all can make it!

Last but not least, we have finished setting up free standard shipping for orders over $100. Be sure to take advantage of that on your next order.

Adios for now!
